This is what _______ looks like.

Over the weekend I headed to CT to visit my parents,  my best friend and college roomie Emily, her husband Paul and her little guy Paul, and my grandparents.  It was a whirlwind and busy but it was so much fun and so filled with love. Sadly, I lost my photos of my day with Emily and Paul. They were mysteriously erased from my memory card. If you want to see some cute pictures of our kids together you can check out her blog Emskyrooney and look at our adorable children.

Saturday was a snow day and my mom and spent the entire day cooking all sorts of soups, breads, and sauces.  We both love to cook and had the perfect opportunity to spend the day in the kitchen. Did I take any pictures?  No.  I was too busy cooking.  I need to get better at documenting my cooking. My dad took excellent care of the kids which of course they loved.  Being with Poppy is huge on their list.

Sunday we took a trip to visit my grandparents Sitto and Giddo. They are too old to travel far so now we go up there for visits. The kids love going to their house. Emma loves the big stuffed bear they have in their living room.  She followed Sitto around the kitchen, sat next to her at lunch and generally just loved being with her. James and Giddo have a tradition of going into Giddo's workshop and creating something out of wood. Did I take pictures?  YES!  It was an absolutely perfect day.  I love my grandparents and am so blessed to know them very personally.  James and Emma will hopefully have wonderful memories of them.

This leads me to the title of my post.  This is what BLESSED looks like.  I don't have pictures of my best friend and her son from this trip. I am very blessed to have her in my life. We have been through 16 years of ups and downs, lots of laughs and our share of crying :).  Weddings, babies, dogs, travel, and families.  I so look forward to watching her raise her beautiful family. She and Paul are doing such a great job with Little Paul.

I am blessed my mom is healthier and we can get back to doing what we love together.  Cooking, baking,  shopping, walking, playing with the kids and at the end of the day sitting down for a cup of tea and some really good conversation and a little tv.  I am blessed my dad is such a hands on and fun Pop Pop.  He is such a patient and loving man. I hope my James turns out to be as gentle and loving as my dad.

Finally, I am blessed with wonderful grandparents. There are four beautiful generations in these pictures. Anyway, these are pretty much SOOC (straight out of the camera) with some very minor edits.

  2. I’m sure James and Emma will have great memories about their grandparents. =D I, myself, love going to my grandparents’ house for a visit. Ever since I was a kid, they’ve been giving me an awful lot of treats. They spoil me so much that I can’t get enough of their love. ^_____^

  4. Great images!!!! I love hands, I am obsessed with shooting them. I wish more clients would hire me to shoot photos like these; "a day around the house". Great work, you can see the love in each image!
